Arsenal enter the race to sign 19-year-old Bundesliga ace
Arsenal have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to sign Rabbi Matondo from Schalke 04 during the summer transfer window.
The 19-year-old has made only 24 appearances for Schalke since his move from Manchester City in 2019 but his potential appears to have caught the eye of several clubs.
Real Madrid, Manchester United and Liverpool have already been linked with the young Welshman and Todofichajes claims that the Gunners have entered the player's pursuit by making initial contact with his agent.
Matondo, who is capable of playing anywhere in the attack, has featured in all of Schalke's games since their return to Bundesliga action after the coronavirus shutdown.
The Gunners are said to be eyeing bargain or swap deals this summer after the financial impact of the coronavirus shutdown and they have been linked with moves for Ryan Fraser and Willian.
Of late, there has been the speculation that Philippe Coutinho could make the switch from Barcelona on loan but his £250,000-a-week wages are said to be a major stumbling block.
