Newcastle United plotting move for Chelsea winger

Newcastle United could reportedly compete with the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Willian.

Willian has been with the Blues for the past seven years but his association with the club could end by the end of the current month.

There has been no agreement in place to extend his contract beyond June and he could be free to negotiate a contract with a domestic club next month.

Arsenal and Spurs have been regularly linked with his services but Globo Esporte claims that the Magpies are also looking at a possible approach.

The club are currently close to a takeover from a Saudi-based consortium and they are claims that they could pursue a number of high-profile players.

Aside from Willian, they have also been linked with the likes of Edinson Cavani and Philippe Coutinho but it is unclear whether they can lure any of the mentioned names without European football next term.
