Newcastle United, Everton interested in AC Milan star

Newcastle United and Everton are reportedly in contention to land the signature of Franck Kessie from AC Milan during this summer's transfer window.

The Ivory Coast international has been a key player for the Rossoneri over the past few years but the club are considering his sale as they seek to improve their financial footing.

He has been linked with the likes of Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United in the past but Tuttosport claims that the Magpies and Toffees are leading the race to secure his services.

Napoli, managed by former Rossoneri boss Gennaro Gattuso, have also expressed an interest, but it is claimed that they may struggle to lure the midfielder ahead of the Premier League duo in terms of wages.

Milan are looking for a fee in the region of £25m to sanction the midfielder's sale. It has been reported that they could re-sign Tiemoue Bakayoko from Chelsea on loan to make up for the player's exit.
