Chelsea receive boost in Kai Havertz pursuit
Chelsea have received a significant boost in signing Kai Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen following their qualification for next season's Champions League.
The west London side cemented a top-four spot in the final game of the Premier League campaign as they registered a 2-0 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge.
Following the game, Frank Lampard acknowledged that the club will have better chances of luring players with Champions League football. Havertz could be one of those heading to the club in the near future.
The Blues have already opened negotiations with Leverkusen for the player's services and they have been in the driving seat to sign him regardless of their European status.
However, their qualification for Europe's premier competition is set to boost their transfer kitty and that should put them in a better position to meet the £90m price tag for the attacker, as per The Express.
Havertz, who has bagged 17 goals and nine assists for Leverkusen this season, is said to have already agreed personal terms over a five-year contract with the Blues.
