Brazilian winger on the verge of joining Arsenal
Willian is reportedly on the cusp of joining Arsenal on a three-year contract. The Brazil international announced his departure from Chelsea earlier today through an open letter on social media.
The 32-year-old has spent the past seven years with the Blues, but he will leave the club on a free transfer after they declined to meet his demands for a three-year deal.
According to Sky Sports News, the winger is likely to make the switch to the Gunners in the coming days. They managed to see off the competition from the likes of Inter Miami and Barcelona.
He has been handed a three-year contract worth £100,000-a-week and reports claim that there is the option to extend his stay for another 12 months, if he is able to impress.
He will become the Gunners' first signing of the summer transfer window. Mikel Arteta is understood to be eyeing at least four new players ahead of the next Premier League season.
