Manchester United favourites to sign French defender
Manchester United are reportedly in pole position to secure the services of Benoit Badiashile from AS Monaco.
The Red Devils are keen on signing a new centre-back this summer with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still unconvinced by Victor Lindelof's performances.
Lille's Gabriel has been regularly linked with the club over the past few weeks, but reports claim that the Brazilian could be heading to the Serie A with Napoli.
Hence, United may have to look elsewhere and Le 10 Sport claims that they have initiated negotiations with Monaco to pursue the signature of Badiashile.
The 19-year-old has nearly four years remaining on his contract with Monaco, but the Principality outfit are open to selling him for around £27m.
Chelsea and Bayer Leverkusen have also been linked with his services, but United are deemed as the favourites to sign the central defender.
Badiashile has a strong aerial ability with good precision with his passing and it remains to be seen whether he will partner Harry Maguire next term.
