Arsenal to hand new contract to Ainsley Maitland-Niles?
Arsenal have made a U-turn on their decision to sell Ainsley Maitland-Niles and are now prepared to hand him a new long-term deal.
The 23-year-old has made over 100 appearances during his Gunners career and he has largely played in the full-back and wing-back positions.
A recent report from The Athletic claimed that the Gunners are opening to selling Maitland-Niles amid the transfer interest from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Earlier this week, the club turned down a £15m bid from the west Midlands outfit and it is now claimed by Sky Sports that they have changed their transfer stance on the player.
Maitland-Niles produced a man of the match performance in the Community Shield win over Liverpool on Saturday and his display earned him a maiden call-up to the England national side.
His call-up will definitely have boosted his transfer value, but it appears that the Gunners are now keen on discussing an improved contract with their club graduate.
