Chelsea open talks for Jhon Duran from Aston Villa

Chelsea have made Jhon Duran a shock target in the summer transfer window, as the Blues are ready to pay around £50 million to land the talented Colombian forward. Duran has only just forced his way into Aston Villa's first team, but the impressive form of other forwards has left the Colombian seeking a move elsewhere.

It is understood that newly appointed Enzo Maresca is a huge fan of Duran, and wants the Colombia international to lead his line at Stamford Bridge alongside Nicolas Jackson. 

Conor Gallagher could be used as part of a potential swap deal, as Villa are ready to bring in the English midfielder should Douglas Luiz depart the club. Brazilian Luiz has been linked with a move to rivals Arsenal.

Duran had a difficult start to life at Aston Villa since his arrival from Chicago Fire in 2023, but recent flashes of brilliance when called up off of the bench proves that the 20-year-old has plenty of potential.
