Juve beat Milan in 3-2 thriller

Hasan Salhiamidzic was the hero for Juventus as he grabbed two goals to see off ten man AC Milan in Serie A on Saturday. Sahliamidzic's goals cancelled out Filippo Inzaghi's brace, and Daniele Bonera had been sent off for the San Siro outfit.

Ranieri: they posed a threat for us

“They had a great first half and they created a lot of problems for us,” Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri said. “Finishing the first half tied was difficult and very important, and then in the second half we outplayed them.”

Two pillars of Milan’s defense, Alessandro Nesta and Kakha Kaladze, sat out the game. Nesta was serving the second of a two-game suspension, and Kaladze was banned because of accumulated yellow cards. Juventus was without midfielder Pavel Nedved, who is recovering after banging his head with another player while attempting a header last week.

Filippo Inzaghi scored in the 14th and 31st minutes, but it wasn’t enough for Milan. Juventus were put ahead through Alessandro Del Piero who bagged his 14th goal of the season with a shot from a sharp angle that was just beyond the outstretched leg of Milan goalkeeper Zeljko Kalac in the 12th minute.

Milan's hopes suffered a setback on 66 minutes when Bonera was given a straight red card for a nasty foul on Mohamed Sissoko.

Juve regained the upperhand as the end of the game drew closer. Their efforts paid off 11 minutes from time when Salihamidzic netted his second of the game, heading the ball past Kalac after another fine cross by Camoranesi from a free-kick.
