Mesut Ozil left out of Arsenal's 25-man Premier League squad
Mesut Ozil may have played his final game for Arsenal after being left out of the 25-man Premier League squad.
The Gunners have 19 non-home grown players in their ranks, but only 17 are allowed to be registered for the Premier League games until January 31.
Hence, a couple of players were expected to get the axe and it is now revealed that Ozil and Sokratis have failed to make the cut.
Ozil has not played a single minute of first-team football for the Gunners following the restart after the coronavirus shutdown last term.
He was offered a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia earlier this summer, but he opted to snub their advances to stay put with the Gunners.
His £350,000-a-week contract is scheduled to expire at the end of the season and it will be interesting to see whether he will leave in advance.
It has been reported that the Gunners may look to mutually terminate his contract by the beginning of next year.
