Manchester United are reluctant to consider the cut-price sale of Phil Jones during the winter transfer window.

The England international has not made a competitive appearance for the Red Devils since January this year.

Hence, he has become frustrated with his situation and it was recently claimed that he could push for an exit at the turn of the year.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils will consider the permanent sale of Jones in the forthcoming transfer window, only if their £20m price tag is met by any suitor.

Jones is currently out of contention under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof, Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe favoured ahead of him for the central defensive duties.

He was recently left out of the 25-man A-list squad for the Champions League. With the lack of gametime, United are unlikely to receive any bids close to their asking price, but they seem reluctant to change their stance.

The 28-year-old is currently one of the longest-serving players at United. He has made 224 appearances to date. He has more than two years remaining on his contract with the club.
