Liverpool to sign free-agent Argentine defender?
Argentine centre-back Ezequiel Garay has emerged as a potential option for Liverpool as they look to find cover in the injury absence of Virgil van Dijk.
Van Dijk sustained a knee ligament injury during the Merseyside derby last weekend and he is now expected to miss the remainder of the current season.
Brighton & Hove Albion's Ben White and Schalke 04's Ozan Kabak have recently been named as possible candidates to fill the void, but they won't come on the cheap with price tags of more than £40m.
Hence, the Merseyside outfit may look into a stop-gap option and Fichajes claims that the club are considering a move for Garay, who is a free-agent after parting ways with Valencia earlier this year.
Garay has just recovered from a similar knee injury to that of Van Dijk and reports claim that he would be open to joining Jurgen Klopp's side on a short-term deal and won't demand big wages.
The 34-year-old, who has represented Argentine on 32 occasions, has vast experience playing at the big stage and he has 81 appearances to his name in the European competitions alone.
