Paul Scholes urges Manchester United to sign RB Leipzig star
Paul Scholes believes Manchester United should make the attempt to sign Dayot Upamecano from RB Leipzig.
The Red Devils recently came up against RB Leipzig in the Champions League group stage and they registered a comfortable 5-0 win.
Upamecano played at the heart of the defence for the German outfit, but he was unable to prevent the heavy loss on the night.
Despite this, Scholes has talked positively about the Frenchman and believes he would suit United as he excels in one-on-one situations.
"This is the type of defender I think United need, he's very different to [Harry] Maguire and [Victor] Lindelof," He told BT Sport.
"He absolutely loves one-on-ones, he loves getting down that channel because he knows he's gonna beat them."
Upamecano signed a fresh long-term deal with the Bundesliga outfit earlier this summer, but he could still leave at the end of the season.
The centre-back had a release clause worth £35m inserted into his contract when signing the new deal. It will become active next summer.
