Man United failed with four offers for Sancho

Manchester United reportedly failed with four bids to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund during the summer transfer window.

The England international was tipped to join the Red Devils earlier this summer, but a deal never materialised as Dortmund were reluctant to lower their £108m price tag.

Hence, United resorted to signing young duo Facundo Pellistri and Amad Traore from Penarol and Atalanta respectively, but the latter will only join the club at the turn of the year due to passport and work permit issues.

Speaking on the Here We Go podcast, former Norwegian star Jan Aage Fjortoft revealed that United were desperate to land Sancho, but were unsuccessful with four separate offers.

The attacker bagged 17 goals and 17 assists in the Bundesliga last season, but he has yet to find the net this term. He has, however, contributed three assists for his teammates.

Sancho still has more than two years remaining on his contract and Dortmund are unlikely to consider his departure during the midway stage of the campaign.
