Arsenal target tipped to leave his current club
Red Bull Salzburg sporting director Christoph Freund has acknowledged that Dominik Szoboszlai is likely to pursue a fresh challenge away from the club in January.
Szoboszlai has been in top form for Salzburg this term with five goals and nine assists from just 14 outings. He has also impressed for Hungary and recently scored a late goal against Iceland which sealed their Euro 2020 spot.
As a result, he has caught the eye of numerous elite clubs and Freund has confessed that the midfielder will most probably leave the club during the January transfer window.
"Let's see what happens in winter, but there is a high probability that he will move to a big club. That is definitely a next step in development so that he can tap this potential and this performance with every game," He told Bild.
Arsenal have been linked with the midfielder with manager Mikel Arteta said to be desperate to sign a creative midfielder. His agent recently confirmed the interest, but also added that a move to the Bundesliga remains the preference.
RB Leipzig, who are the sister club of Salzburg, are favourites to land his signature by triggering the £23m release clause on his contract. Tottenham Hotspur have previously been linked with the 20-year-old.
