Liverpool midfielder asks for more time to decide future
Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum has reportedly asked for more time from the club's hierarchy to decide on his future.
The Dutchman's current deal expires at the end of the campaign and so far, he has yet to agree terms over a renewal.
He is free to speak to foreign clubs next month, but The Guardian claims that he won't do so until he has held talks with the club's hierarchy.
Wijnaldum is currently assessing the best option to prolong his career and he is keen on signing a new three-year deal.
The Reds have so far proposed only a two-year extension and reports claim that Barcelona and Inter Milan are monitoring his situation.
The Blaugrana are deemed favourites to sign him, suppose the midfielder makes his mind up to leave the Reds.
Wijnaldum has been with the Premier League holders since the summer of 2016. He has made over 200 appearances over the past four and a half years.
