Manchester United leading race to sign French midfielder
Manchester United are reportedly considered favourites to land the signature of Boubakary Soumare from Lille this month.
The 21-year-old has been linked with a move to the Premier League over the past year and he previously turned down advances from Newcastle United.
Soumare was out-of-favour during the backend of last season after a rift with the manager, but he has been a vital player for Lille this term.
He has made 21 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, who are third in the French top-flight and his form has caught the eye of United.
According to Italian journalist Vito Angele, United are leading the race to sign the defensive midfielder and they are in advanced talks with Lille.
AC Milan have also made an approach, but they are reluctant to pay the reported £35m asking price demanded by Lille.
Soumare, who has previously been linked with Arsenal, has less than 18 months remaining on his contract with Les Dogues.
