Barcelona eyeing Liverpool ace as Lewandowski replacement
Barcelona are reportedly eyeing Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski.
The Uruguayan has received much criticism over his finishing this season, but he has still registered 18 goals and 13 assists for the Reds.
Nunez has been a clear favourite under manager Jurgen Klopp, but the scenario could change with Arne Slot set to replace the German.
There are suggestions that Slot could prefer a new striker up front and he could consider a reunion with Feyenoord ace Santiago Gimenez.
Amidst this, Liverpool have opened the door for the departure of Nunez, but the big question is whether Barcelona can afford his signature.
Liverpool will want to recoup the €75m fee spent up front to sign him from Benfica, but Barcelona are not in a position to meet such demands.
The Catalan giants are most likely to propose an initial loan deal for the 24-year-old with an option to purchase at the end of the campaign.
