Barcelona after Benzema

Barcelona have entered the race to sign Karim Benzema from Lyon. The French striker has bagged 21 goals for the French champions in all competitions this season.

Benzema is valued at around £17 million and Barcelona are preparing a list of targets for their summer transfer moves.

Sporting director Txiki Beguiristain was in Lyon on Tuesday night to watch Benzema, who came up trumps with a goal in the victory over Metz in the French Cup.

Man Utd and Chelsea are also expected to wish to make a move for the striker, but Barcelona are believed to have put Benzema in their sights as a potential replacement for the outgoing Ronaldinho.
