Chelsea planning big-money move for Erling Haaland

Chelsea want Erling Haaland

Chelsea could reportedly make a club-record move to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Braut Haaland at the end of the season.

The Blues bolstered their strike force with Timo Werner in the summer, but the German has netted only four league goals to date.

He should come good in the long-term, but the club are still looking for another prolific striker to challenge for the title next term.

According to The Athletic, the Blues have their sights on signing Haaland, who has netted 35 goals from as many games for Dortmund.

Haaland's deal has a £66m release clause which becomes active in June 2022, but the Blues are keen on signing him prior to that.

They will attempt to land his services next summer, but may have to pay a significant fee higher than the buy-out clause to tempt Dortmund.

Blues boss Frank Lampard has recently said that the club's priority remains to finish in the top four of the Premier League this term.
