Newcastle United want Arsenal midfielder on loan
Newcastle United are aiming to sign Arsenal midfielder Joe Willock on loan until the end of the season, The Daily Mail reports.
The 21-year-old has excelled in the Europa League this term with three goals and three assists, but he has barely made an impact in the Premier League.
Willock has largely been on the substitutes' bench when it comes to the league games and he has been restricted to just 234 minutes of action.
According to The Mail, Magpies boss Steve Bruce is aiming to reinforce his midfield department and has identified Willock as an option.
While Willock would benefit from regular game time, the Gunners are reluctant to loan him out, suppose Ainsley Maitland-Niles leaves.
Maitland-Niles is currently available on loan and he has been linked with the likes of Southampton, Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion.
Southampton are regarded as the favourites to land his signature before the transfer window closes at 11pm on Monday.
