James Rodriguez could reportedly push for a departure from Everton when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

The Colombian arrived at the Toffees on a free transfer from Real Madrid last summer and has been a good signing with five goals and seven assists from 20 appearances.

His current contract expires in 17 months' time but the Merseyside outfit have the option of prolonging his stay for another year. Despite this, it appears that the attacker is already eyeing an early exit from the club.

According to Defensa Central, the South American attacker is not content with the weather in England while he is also concerned by the regular injuries sustained due to the physical nature of the Premier League.

Rodriguez allegedly misses his time in the Spanish capital and is said to be open to joining Atletico Madrid, who are currently flying high at the top of La Liga table.

Atletico made an attempt to sign him during the summer of 2019, but Los Blancos' hierarchy turned down the move as they did not want to boost the title prospects of their arch-rivals.
