Barcelona want to sign Manchester City striker

Barcelona will attempt to sign Sergio Aguero on a free transfer this summer, a report from The Mirror claims.

The Argentine has been with Manchester City for nearly a decade and he is presently their all-time top scorer with 256 goals.

Despite the rich success, he has experienced a tough 2020/21 campaign with injuries and coronavirus restricting him to just nine appearances.

He recently admitted that he is unsure regarding his future, considering his Cityzens contract expires at the end of June.

Aguero has previously stated that he may return to Independiente one day but he appears keen on staying in Europe for a few more years.

The Blaugrana are keeping tabs on his situation and may look to negotiate a pre-contract, suppose the Cityzens decide against a renewal.

The Catalan giants are currently facing the prospect of Lionel Messi leaving the club when his deal expires in the summer.

Aguero has a close relationship with Argentine teammate Messi. It is suggested that Messi may be convinced to stay with his compatriot's arrival.
