Manchester United are reportedly in advanced negotiations to sign Nikola Milenkovic from Fiorentina this summer.

The Serbian has been a long-term target for the Red Devils and was initially on their radar when Jose Mourinho was the head coach.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Milenkovic has no plans of extending his contract with La Viola, which expires in June 2022.

The Serie A side are expected to sanction his departure and it is claimed that United are leading the race to sign him.

The club have already made contact with his agent and they may need to pay around £29m to sign the central defender.

Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire have been the regular centre-backs at United with Eric Bailly being the back-up option.

Bailly will enter the final year of his contract this summer and it is claimed that he could pursue a fresh challenge elsewhere.

There has been criticism over Lindelof's displays in the past and Milenkovic could offer strong competition to the Swede, if he joins.
