Arsenal midfielder will sign a new contract - Agent

Mohamed Elneny news

Elneny set for new Arsenal deal?

The agent of Mohamed Elneny has confirmed that the Egyptian will sign a new contract with Arsenal in the near future.

Elneny rejoined the Gunners after his Besikas loan stint last summer, and it was claimed that he was set for a departure.

Instead, the 28-year-old was given the chance to redeem himself by manager Mikel Arteta, and he has already made 31 appearances this term.

Speaking to the Egyptian press, agent Alan Nazmy said that Elneny has the trust of the head coach and will renew his contract with the club.

He said: "Elneny will renew his contract with Arsenal. He won’t leave to Galatasaray or Turkey."

"Elneny has never thought about leaving. He is happy with Arsenal, and Arteta trusts him."

Elneny's current deal expires at the end of next season. He recently said that he would be delighted to sign an extension.

Arteta has previously heaped praise on his tireless work rate, and that is something which may convince the Spaniard to hand him a renewal.
