Aston Villa planning move for Manchester United attacker
Aston Villa have entered the race to sign Manchester United attacker Jesse Lingard, who is currently on loan at West Ham United.
Lingard has revived his career since his loan move to the Hammers in January, netting nine goals and four assists from just 10 games.
His form has led to suggestions that the Hammers will explore a permanent deal, but they could face competition from the Villans, as per Football Insider.
The Midlands outfit consider him as a 'Villa-type player', and believe the Englishman would provide a big upgrade to their attack.
Lingard's contract with United expires in less than 15 months' and it is reported that the club could demand around £20m for his services.
They valued him at only £10m in January, but the price has been significantly driven up by his standout displays for West Ham.
The Hammers are currently fourth in the Premier League table, but they could be leapfrogged by Chelsea tonight.
