Chelsea keen on signing Brazilian midfield sensation

Chelsea are prepared to battle with the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid to sign midfielder Gabriel Menino this summer.

The 20-year-old has already made 62 appearances for Palmeiras across all competitions, registering four goals and seven assists.

According to Calciomercato, the Blues are keen to bring the youngster to Stamford Bridge after scouting him extensively.

Atletico Madrid, Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur are also interested, but the Blues are determined to win the transfer battle.

Menino has more than three years remaining on his Palmeiras contract, and the Brazilian side are in a strong position to negotiate.

He has a release clause worth £51m on his contract, but the club could accept around half the figure amid the financial impact of COVID-19.

The Blues are currently fourth in the league standings, but are only goal difference ahead of London rivals West Ham United.

They make the trip to the London Stadium for this weekend's encounter against the Hammers. It could make or break their top-four hopes.
