Bailly wanted by Real Betis

Real Betis are reportedly lining up an approach to sign Eric Bailly from Manchester United this summer.

Bailly has had a tough campaign where he has played second fiddle to Victor Lindelof and Harry Maguire for the central defensive roles.

His current deal expires in less than 15 months, and he has reportedly declined a new contract as he is frustrated with the back-up role.

United are likely to consider his departure in the near future, and The Sun reports that Betis are leading the pursuit of his services.

Betis have had a tremendous second half to the campaign, and they are currently sixth in the Spanish top-flight.

The club are on course to qualify for the Europa League, which could boost their prospects of luring Bailly back to La Liga.

The Ivory Coast international was previously in the ranks of Villarreal before his move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2016.

He has made only 100 appearances for United to date amid multiple injuries. He was recently sidelined after contracting coronavirus.
