Arsenal have been handed a boost in signing Norwich City playmaker Emiliano Buendia this summer.

The Gunners have been long-term admirers of the Argentine, and they were interested in him in January.

However, they could not negotiate a deal with the Canaries, and opted to pursue Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid.

Odegaard has had a mixed stint with the Gunners, and it is unclear whether they can afford his signature this summer.

The Norwegian is valued at £50m, and the Gunners may have to look elsewhere to bolster the attacking midfield department.

Buendia had a top campaign for the Canaries in the Championship with 15 goals and 17 assists from just 39 appearances.

According to The Athletic, the Norwich hierarchy are open to the right offers for their players, and won't block summer exits.

Buendia was valued at around £40m in January, and the Gunners could scoop for his services when the transfer window reopens.
