Manchester United want to sign former Liverpool striker
Manchester United are reportedly weighing up an approach to sign Southampton striker Danny Ings this summer.
Ings has struggled with injuries this term, but he has still impressed with 12 goals from 28 Premier League appearances.
He will enter the final year of his contract this summer, and reports claim that he could pursue a bigger challenge elsewhere.
According to The Telegraph, the 28-year-old has emerged as an option for United, and they could compete with Tottenham Hotspur for his services.
United recently committed Edinson Cavani to a new one-year contract, and the hierarchy are not looking to spend big on another marksman.
Instead, they are eyeing a low-cost option, and Ings could be available for a reduced fee with his contract situation at the Saints.
Ings, who was formerly contracted with Liverpool, has registered 46 goals and 10 assists from 99 appearances for the Saints.
He had a tough time with injuries at Liverpool, but his fitness record has vastly improved during his time at St Mary's.
