Erik ten Hag reacts to Casemiro's mistake vs Arsenal
Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has reacted to Casemiro's mistake which contributed to Arsenal's winning goal at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils suffered a 1-0 Premier League defeat to the Gunners earlier today. Leandro Trossard scored his 17th goal of the season from a Kai Havertz assist.
Casemiro was responsible for the loss. The Brazilian played Kai Havertz miles onside with his poor positioning and it proved costly in the end with another defeat.
Speaking after the game, Ten Hag said that Casemiro is a midfielder playing at centre-back and a small mistake can lead to hard consequences.
He said: "In that situation he is a midfielder playing in that position and making a small mistake, but it has hard consequences."
"I think for United players every game is a final and you have to perform and win every game - we should realise this."
With the defeat, United remain eighth in the league standings with 54 points. They are now three points behind both Chelsea and Newcastle, who have superior goal differences.
The Red Devils face Newcastle and Brighton & Hove Albion in the final two games of the campaign. Both are definitely must-win games for them to stand any chance of making Europe.
They could also qualify for the Europa League by winning the FA Cup against Manchester City, but that is a tall order, considering their injuries and poor run of league form.
