Manchester United halt new striker plans?

United won't sign a new striker this summer

Manchester United are not interested in bringing in a new striker during the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils recently agreed to sign long-term target Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund for a fee of around £73 million.

The club are now focusing on landing a new centre-back. They are also searching for another right-back and central midfielder.

According to Manchester Evening News, United have no immediate plans to sign another striker, and they could wait until next summer.

The hierarchy are satisfied with Edinson Cavani's performances. The 34-year-old recently signed a one-year extension with the club.

Meanwhile, Mason Greenwood and Anthony Martial can also lead the line, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks set to work with the trio.

United are currently in negotiations with Real Madrid for defender Raphael Varane, but a deal could be complex to finalise.

Madrid are still angry over the failed David de Gea transfer in 2015 due to a faulty fax machine. They remain reluctant to do business with United.
