Manchester United set to sign Real Madrid star Raphael Varane
Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement to sign Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
The Red Devils have been long-term admirers of Varane, and they have eventually secured an agreement to sign him.
According to Fabrizio Romano, a deal worth £42m has been finalised. United will pay £34m up front for the centre-back.
Varane has already agreed personal terms over a five-year deal, and he is expected to join the club in the coming days.
The 28-year-old is currently preparing for the trip to Manchester. He may have to quarantine before signing the contract.
Varane will become the club's second acquisition of the summer after the arrival of Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund.
The two purchases have already exceeded the club's transfer budget, and they will need to sell players to make more signings.
The Red Devils have their sights on landing a new right-back and central midfielder before the summer transfer deadline.
