Bailly to leave Manchester United?

Eric Bailly wants showdown talks with Manchester United after their recent agreement to sign Real Madrid's Raphael Varane.

Bailly has been the back-up centre-back behind Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof over the past few seasons.

He signed a new long-term deal earlier in April with the assurance that he would compete for a starting spot.

That appears unlikely with the arrival of Varane from Los Blancos. The Frenchman is expected to partner Maguire.

According to ESPN, Bailly will hold talks with the Red Devils regarding his prospects of playing time next season.

The Ivory Coast international is currently on Olympics duty. He is unlikely to return to the club until the middle of August.

Earlier in May, Bailly said that he would be happy to leave the club if he is not guaranteed a regular starting position.

Villarreal are reportedly interested in re-signing him. It remains to be seen how United deal with his situation this summer.
