Arsenal and Everton are among the Premier League clubs that have been offered the chance to sign Philippe Coutinho this summer.

The Brazilian has been with Barcelona since January 2018, but he has made just 90 appearances for them in all competitions.

He was not in the matchday squad for the La Liga opener, and it appears quite clear that the club prefer to offload him.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, a number of Premier League clubs have been contacted including Arsenal and Everton.

Coutinho is currently on wages of more than £300,000-a-week. Barcelona will need to compensate part of his wages for any move.

They may ideally prefer to sell him with two years left on his contract. However, the main emphasis is to reduce the wage bill.

The Catalan giants also want to avoid making any future clause payments to the Brazilian's former employers Liverpool.

They would need to pay £17m to the Reds if he plays 100 games for them. The hierarchy are keen to avoid that prospect.
