Championship star eager to join Arsenal

Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is keen to join the Gunners before the transfer window closes this month.

The Gunners recently entered talks with Sheffield to sign the 23-year-old, but the negotiations broke down due to the price tag.

The north Londoners were willing to offer around £20m plus add-ons, but the Blades stayed firm on their £30m valuation.

The Gunners are now looking elsewhere, but it appears that Ramsdale is doing his part to push through a possible transfer.

According to The Mirror, the shot-stopper is eager to return to the Premier League and wants to join Mikel Arteta's side.

Ramsdale is prepared to hand him a transfer request to try and push through a move to the Emirates Stadium in the coming weeks.

The goalkeeper will be sacrificing his loyalty bonuses in this case. It remains to be seen whether the Blades lower their price tag.

If the Gunners sign him, he is likely to play deputy to Bernd Leno before taking charge as the number one in the long run.
