Manchester United plan fresh contract talks with Portuguese star
Manchester United are planning fresh talks with Bruno Fernandes over a new long-term contract, A Bola reports.
The Red Devils spoke with Fernandes' agent over a new deal earlier this year, but the negotiations were unsuccessful.
His representative asked for a release clause. United made it clear that they won't entertain such demands for a renewal.
It is now reported that the club will renew discussions over a new deal as they are keen to reward the Portuguese playmaker.
Fernandes has been a revelation for the club since arriving from Sporting Lisbon during the 2020 winter transfer window.
He has bagged 44 goals and 25 assists from just 84 appearances.
He is currently on wages of around £180,000-a-week. United are ready to make him one of the highest earners.
They are willing to offer him £300,000 in weekly wages. He would become the fifth highest-paid player at the club.
Fernandes has netted four times this term. He bagged a stunning long-range goal against Newcastle United earlier today.
