Werner open-minded about his future

Chelsea forward Timo Werner is open-minded about his future, a report from 90min claims.

The German joined the Blues from Leipzig last summer. He bagged 12 goals and 15 assists from 52 games last season.

While the tally was impressive, there was still plenty of criticism from fans as he missed several clear-cut scoring chances.

That prompted the Blues to pursue a new marksman. Romelu Lukaku was signed last month on a club-record deal.

The Belgian is now the first-choice striker ahead of Werner, and it appears that the German is evaluating his future options.

Bayern have been long-term admirers of his services, and they were in the mix to sign him before the Blues sealed the deal.

The 25-year-old has a close relationship with Bayern head coach Julian Nagelsmann, who previously managed him at Leipzig.

A reunion could be on the cards next summer as he may be restricted to a regular substitute role with the Blues hereon.
