Manchester United in race to sign Chelsea midfield target

Manchester United are among the contenders to sign AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
The Ivorian has entered the final year of his contract with the Rossoneri, and he has recently snubbed an extension.
He can sign a pre-contract with a foreign club in January, and reports claim that multiple Premier League teams are interested.
Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea are weighing up bids, and it appears that the Red Devils have also entered the player's pursuit.
United are expected to prioritise a new defensive midfielder next summer, and they are open to signing an overseas player.
Declan Rice was their initial transfer target, but they have ended their interest due to West Ham United's £80m price.
Kessie is open to playing in the Premier League. He has previously admitted that he would grab the chance to join United or Chelsea.
Meanwhile, reports elsewhere claim that Milan may want to recoup funds from Kessie by selling him at the turn of the year.
