United confident of new Paul Pogba deal

Manchester United are confident of finalising a new deal for midfielder Paul Pogba before the turn of the year.

The Frenchman has entered the final nine months of his United deal, and there is huge uncertainty over his future.

The midfielder can sign a pre-contract with an overseas club in January, but reports claim that he may stay put.

According to The Sun, the Red Devils are confident of keeping him, and plan fresh talks with agent Mino Raiola.

Pogba was offered a £400,000-a-week contract offer earlier this year, and the proposal remains on the discussion table.

The club are very optimistic that they can finalise a new long-term deal with Pogba before the transfer window reopens.

The Red Devils are also planning to hold negotiations with Bruno Fernandes over an improved contract after his progress.

He has been an excellent acquisition for them with 44 goals and 28 assists in just 90 games. They are keen to reward him.

Pogba, who is valued at £54m by Transfermarkt, is being tracked by Paris Saint-Germain in the hope that he won't renew his stay.
