Mohamed Salah sets hefty demands for new Liverpool contract
Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah wants to become one of the highest earners in the Premier League, Independent claims.
The Egypt international has been in scintillating form for the Merseyside giants this term, bagging nine goals from as many games.
His current £200,000-a-week deal expires in June 2023, and the Reds are desperate to commit him to a long-term contract.
There has been no progress regarding the same, and it is now reported that Salah is making excessive salary demands.
Virgil van Dijk is the club's highest earner at £220,000-a-week. Salah wants between £300,000 to £380,000 to commit his future.
The Reds seem unlikely to break their wage structure for the attacker, and it remains to be seen whether they can lower his demands.
Salah had a stellar game against Manchester City last night with a goal and an assist in the 2-2 Premier League draw at Anfield.
He scored the Reds' second goal at 1-1 with a stunning mazy run, taking out five Manchester City players in the process.
