Chelsea striker on Newcastle United's radar?

Chelsea striker Timo Werner has emerged as a potential target for Newcastle United ahead of the winter transfer window. 

A Saudi-led consortium recently took control of the Magpies from Mike Ashley, and they are expected to make several big-name signings.

There could be a mini spending spree in January, particularly with the club having made a poor start to the current Premier League season.

According to Bild, the Magpies are interested in Werner, and the player's agency are already in contact with the club's hierarchy.

Werner has struggled since his move to Chelsea from Leipzig, but he has still made 30 goal contributions from exactly 60 matches.

The German recently said that he is happy with the Blues. He may assess his situation over the entire season before making a decision.

Werner has netted just one Premier League goal this term. There are suggestions that he could return to the Bundesliga next summer.

The 25-year-old has started the last two Premier League games for the Blues. He scored against Southampton before the international break.
