Chelsea, Newcastle United sounded out over Eden Hazard's availability
Chelsea and Newcastle United have been sounded out over the potential availability of Eden Hazard next year, ESPN reports.
The Belgian was with the Blues for seven seasons (2012-2019) where he registered 110 goals and 92 assists from 352 appearances.
He made the move to Real Madrid a couple of years ago, but things have since gone pear-shaped for him with multiple injury concerns.
Hazard has made just over 50 appearances in his two-and-a-half seasons at the club, and it is claimed that they could cut their losses on him.
The Madrid giants paid an initial sum of around £100m and a further £20m was paid when they won the La Liga title in 2019/2020.
With more than two years left on his contract, Los Blancos believe it is the right time to offload him and clubs have been alerted.
The Blues have been offered the chance to re-sign the playmaker while Newcastle United are also aware of the Belgian's situation.
Hazard recently returned to action after a knock sustained on international duty. He has come off the bench for his last three league appearances.
