Tottenham Hotspur close to landing Serie A midfielder?
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly close to finalising a deal for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
The Ivorian has been tipped to leave the Rossoneri, having snubbed a new contract beyond next summer.
He has been linked with several Premier League clubs, but journalist Rudy Galetti claims that Spurs are favourites.
The north London club have been working behind the scenes to sign a new defensive midfielder with experience.
Fabio Paratici has good knowledge on Kessie, having watched him regularly when he was Juventus' sporting director.
He is now working closely with new boss Antonio Conte over the transfer strategy. Kessie could join next summer.
They will look to seal a pre-contract deal in January. Kessie will earn £8.5 million with a potential move to Spurs.
Kessie previously revealed his ambition of playing in the Premier League when he was contracted to Atalanta.
Manchester United and Chelsea were named as his preferred clubs, but Spurs seem in pole position to secure his services.
