Newcastle United favourites to sign Arsenal striker target?

Newcastle United are deemed favourites to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic during the January transfer window.

The Serbian is regarded as one of the best strikers in Serie A. He has already bagged 10 goals from 13 league games this term.

According to The Sun, the Magpies are ready to step up the pursuit of Vlahovic, who is likely to be sold this winter.

Vlahovic has snubbed a new deal with La Viola. With his contract expiring in June 2023, the club are ready to cash in on him.

They are said to demand around €80m, and it is claimed that the Magpies are prepared to meet the valuation for the marksman.

The Gunners have also been credited with an interest in the 21-year-old, but they are unlikely to afford a straight-cash deal.

Vlahovic has yet to make a decision over his future, but he could be tempted by the ambitious project at Newcastle United.

The Magpies are expected to spend vast sums in the coming transfer windows after the takeover from a Saudi-led consortium.
