Bundesliga midfielder appreciated by Ralf Rangnick
Bundesliga midfielder Denis Zakaria is reportedly a transfer target for Manchester United this month, Fabrizio Romano claims.
The Swiss has entered the final six months of his Borussia Monchengladbach deal, and he could be sold this winter.
Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all been linked with him, and according to Fabrizio Romano, United are also in the mix.
The 25-year-old is hugely appreciated by interim boss Ralf Rangnick, and the Red Devils hierarchy have discussed over his availability.
However, they have yet to make an approach to Monchengladbach. The German outfit could sell him for around €7 million this month.
Zakaria reportedly prefers a free transfer in the summer as that would allow him to command a significant signing-on fee from interested clubs.
A mid-season exit could also be on the cards if one of his suitors is willing to hand a substantial hike on his current salary of around £51,000-a-week.
Monchengladbach have already confirmed that Zakaria has no plans of renewing his contract which expires at the end of June.
