AC Milan join pursuit of Chelsea defender

AC Milan have joined Barcelona in the race to sign Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen this summer.

The Dane has entered the final six months of his Blues deal, and he is free to negotiate terms with a foreign club.

Barcelona are leading the race to sign him with reports claiming that his contract U-turn was influenced by them.

Christensen was close to signing a new long-term deal with the Blues, but he suddenly decided against the contract renewal.

Since then, he has changed his representative, and the onus is now on pursuing a fresh challenge away from the Blues.

The Catalan giants are favourites to sign the defender on a pre-contract, but the Rossoneri are still optimistic of luring him.

The Milan giants signed fellow teammate Fikayo Tomori on loan last winter before signing him on a permanent basis.

They are now keen on reuniting Christensen with Tomori at the heart of the defence, and will negotiate with his agent soon.
