Liverpool make Denis Zakaria transfer decision

Zakaria not on Liverpool radar

Liverpool have no plans of signing Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria this month.

The Merseyside giants were recently linked with the Swiss international, and it was claimed that they were leading the race.

However, according to Liverpool Echo, that is hardly the case. The Reds are prepared to wait until the summer for reinforcements.

With several players returning from injuries, manager Jurgen Klopp is willing to stick with the current crop of players for the season.

A new defensive midfielder remains a priority for the Reds, but they are unlikely to make a rushed transfer decision this month.

Zakaria could still leave Monchengladbach as his contract expires in the summer. The German outfit are eyeing around £6 million.

Bayern Munich and Juventus have been credited with an interest in the 24-year-old, who has no plans of renewing his Gladbach contract.

He was also associated with Manchester United lately, but the club's hierarchy don't want to sign anyone until they pursue a permanent manager.
