Arsenal striker target pushing for summer transfer
Arsenal have been handed a boost in signing Lille striker Jonathan David during the summer transfer window.
The Canada international is eyeing a new challenge away from Lille, and his agent has already gone public over the same.
According to Florian Plettenberg, Lille are willing to sell David this summer if they receive a fee between €45-50 million.
David is open to pursuing a move to the Premier League, but he would want the assurance of Champions League football.
Hence, Newcastle United are unlikely to sign him, but the Gunners may have the chance if they finish in the top four this term.
The north London giants are presently two points behind fourth-placed Manchester United, but have three games in hand.
They look in a good position to qualify for the competition. This would boost their chances of landing the former Gent star.
The hierarchy are long-term admirers of David, having initially tracked his performances when he was plying his trade in Belgium.
