Chelsea pull out of race for Barcelona star?

Chelsea may not attempt to sign Barcelona attacker Ousmane Dembele this summer, AS reports.

The Blues are currently third in the Premier League standings, and look in a good position to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Despite this, there is an uncertainty whether they will spend this summer with owner Roman Abramovich confirming his decision to sell.

The Russian is quite clear that he does not want a quick sale, and this could potentially hamper the Blues' prospects of signing new players.

According to AS, the Blues are unlikely to make a contract offer to Dembele despite being interested in signing him during the last transfer window.

The club made a bid of around €10m to Barcelona in January, but Dembele decided against leaving them midway through the campaign.

He now appears set to leave on a free transfer when his contract expires in June. The Blues seem unlikely to make an approach for him.

Manchester United are currently considered favourites to land Dembele with Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain also pulling out of the race.
